The Rules - 12/19/06
Performance Rules
1. Rules apply to contestants, audience members and judges alike
2. Rules can be added or changed at any time by the Host
3. Any violation of the rules will lead to the violater being kicked off stage, escorted out of the theater and not allowed to return to the show.
4. No damaging the theater
5. No touching the judges, audience or contestants with anything (physical contact, objects, etc.)
6. No bad smells
7. No harmful visuals (ex: bright lights, laser beams)
8. No fire or smoke
9. No causing physical harm to the contestant, the judges or the audience
10. Host controls the volume of the act
11. No illegal acts
12. No blood, shit, piss, come, vomit or fart acts.
Logistical Rules
1. We will post the rules at each show so that all performers can review them at any time during the show
2. If there are children in the audience, the host will ask the acts to warn the audience if their material is adult in nature so that parents can take their children out for a break during their performance.
3. Sign-up for acts starts at 7:30PM
4. Sign-ups are first come first serve, in person
5. If the number of performers is such that the show might extend beyond 10PM, we will limit the amount of time per act to 3-4 minutes to make sure all the performers get a chance to perform by the time the show ends at 10PM
6. During their performance, if the performer wishes to attempt to double their set time, they can attempt to do so by putting $10 into the “Overtime” can.
7. If an audience member does not want to hear the performer’s extended set time, they can put $20 in the “overtime box” during their extended set to get them to stop performing
8. If time permits, performers can sign up for a second round of performances
9. Everyone who signs up will be given time in the show to perform.
10. At the end of each show, the host will ask the audience to vote for the "Worst Act of the Night" by show of hands
11. Audience members can vote for as many acts as they want
12. Judges are allowed to perform, but they are not eligible to win “Worst Act of the Night”
13. Audience members can purchase only one performer type ticket ($5), but an unlimited number of audience member tickets ($10)
14. The “Worst Act of the Month ” will receive a Tiara, a $10 gift certificate, a Miss American Fido SF tshirt and will be invited to come back to the December show, courtesy of Miss American Fido to compete for the title of "Worst Act of the Year"
15. The “Worst Act of the Year” winner will receive a Tiara, $20 gift certificate, a Miss American Fido SF tshirt and a bio and video of their act will be posted on the Miss American Fido website.
16. All performers will be encouraged to sign a legal release to allow Miss American Fido to use video of their performances for merchandise, promotion and to pitch to cable in an effort to produce Miss American Fido for cable.
